Our guest for July's Reimagining Music podcast is Quanice G. Floyd (she/her). Quanice is a dynamic leader in arts education and advocacy, based in Washington, DC. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education from Howard University and Kent State University, and a Master’s in Arts Management from American University. She just graduated in June 2024 with her doctorate in education focusing on educational policy from Drexel University. Quanice is the Executive Director of the National Guild for Community Arts Education and co-founded the Arts Administrators of Color (AAC) Network. With a background in public-school music education, she has taught general music, chorus, band, and orchestra. Quanice also serves as a commissioner for the DC Commission for the Arts and Humanities. She has received numerous awards, including the Americans for the Arts' Emerging Leader Award and the Arts Advocate of the Year Award.
