Unlocking Creativity: A Beginner’s Guide to Hyperscore for Music Educators

Join us at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA, for a dynamic course designed for aspiring music teachers eager to explore innovative composition tools. Participants will learn how to effectively use Hyperscore, a unique software that transforms musical ideas into engaging compositions. Through hands-on activities and collaborative projects, educators will discover how to inspire creativity in their students, making music composition accessible and fun. By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped with practical skills and strategies to incorporate Hyperscore into your teaching, fostering a new generation of confident young composers.

Who’s teaching the course

June Kinoshita is the co-founder and executive director of New Harmony Line, a nonprofit promoting creativity through music composition with Hyperscore. Peter Torpey is a Media Experience Artist and director of Live and Immersive Arts, blending theater, music, and technology. He holds a doctorate from MIT Media Lab.These workshops are part of Longy’s fourth annual Beginning Teacher Workshop (8:30am – 12:30pm).
